How about getting faster network at home with a simple box? HomePlug (or powerline) is a technology that fixes it. It's about adapters that you plug into a standard outlet and gives you a fixed network via your standard electrical wiring. Simply pull a network cable between the adapter and your router or computer. Or your printer, hard disk, acer travelmate 240 battery, or storage server.
Why not WiFi?What is the point of this? Many online stuff is just as well to connect to a wireless access point? Yes, WiFi will do just fine for most things you do on a regular PC or a surf board. And of course it is nice not having to hunt around for a network socket and get tangled in wires.
While WiFi is a limited technology with a lot of disadvantages. First of all, you clearly inferior bandwidth when you go wireless. Are many of the family access the network simultaneously and make bandwidth-intensive tasks like downloading large files or stream video, it soon becomes tough.
Another important difference between wifi and a fixed connection is that the wireless is uneven. How fast you can transfer from one computer that equipped with vgp-bps10 battery to the router varies greatly, and often the small breaks in the transmission when the connection is broken and must be resumed again, or radio signal interference.
Good for high-definitionIf you only send smaller files internally on the network or surf the web so you will not know of this. The technology for file transfer, and Web protocol HTTP are both built to handle it a little choppy in the transfer. Does it take a second or two extra to download a web page and then world has not come.
The same happens when you stream movies from the web, for example from Youtube or a Play-station. With this technique, charge home much of the film in advance, so you can continue to play even if there is a break in transmission.
But, do you want to stream movies in high quality of the home server, your DLNA-connected televisions, and a bunch of computers that equipped with lenovo y710 batteries expect the systems that communication is much more steady and does not forgive all the bumps as a wireless network with each other. So if there are too cumbersome to draw the appropriate network cables, yes that's right then Homeplug is a really good option.
New, faster generationDuring the year there has appeared a handful of HomePlug devices that will increase capacity which can be sent over the network effect. Previously, we have seen 100-200 megabits per second, but now the theoretical maximum speed to be up to 500 megabits or even for some plugs 1000 megabits.
This varies a lot depending on the quality of power lines, how much else that is plugged into nearby outlets and different things that may disturb the signal, ranging from building materials to the electromagnetic field around such things as electric radiators. But the new faster plugs are also better able to get a good enough speed in worse conditions. And they are usually much faster and more stable than WiFi.
We tested five starter for either 500 or 1000 megabits Homeplug. In them, you get two units. A to the router and one to put where you want the signal to go. Then you can easily buy more thinkpad t30 batteries. It is surprisingly big difference in the plugs, and it applies to everything from performance to the features and user interface.
